The Countdown Begins!

April 26th is quickly approaching which is a BIG day for us here at Scrap That!

This is when our team of very talented designers will reveal their creations using our first ever kit "Blue Velvet".

We are very proud of this kit. It is our very first attempt and designing a kit - so there were inevitable little hiccups along the way but we think the end result is pretty fantastic!

Here are a couple of peaks from Vicky's work :)

So You Think You Can Sketch? Winner!

Scrap That! is happy to announce the winner of our "So You Think You Can Sketch?" Contest.

Please meet Heather Robertson from Alaska who submitted this sketch.

Heather has been fortunate to live in two amazingly beautiful places - originally from Northern Ireland she now lives in Alaska. Heather and her DH Dan have a very photogenic daughter Lauren (age 9) and a very photo phobic son Nathan (age 11). They share their home with 2 dogs and 3 cats and they love to travel, to hike and fish (well - she likes to read, and they like to fish!
LOL!).
Of course, she loves to scrapbook and has been scrapping for about 6 years. Heather dabbles a little in
digi and also loves to make cards. Primarily she prefers to scrap in a bold graphical style but will try her hand at most things. Her favorite techniques are sewing and photo editing.

A big Scrap That! welcome to Heather!

Introducing the new Scrap That! Design Team

Vicky Alberto - Design Team and Kit Coordinator

With 10 years of marketing experience, scrapbooking is a natural extension of my work world. After having my last child, I decided not to return to a corporate marketing job so I could raise my young children. I feel that I am now ready for a new challenge and would love to start merging my passion for paper art with my previous work experience in order make a career for myself in the scrapbooking industry. I am really excited to be the Design Team and Kit Coordinator for Scrap That! I have also recently been hired to teach technique classes at my local scrap shop and am looking forward to sharing tips and techniques through Scrap That's blog and my own at
http://simplypaperandcreativity.blogspot.com/

Karen Wilson - Design Team

Hello! I'm Karen Wilson, I have lived in Northern Arizona since 2000, I'm originally from California. I'm a proud mother to 2 kids, Jayden(2) and Nicole(6). Between the two of them, they sure do keep me on my toes. I'm a newlywed, married to the most wonderful man, Brandon and am so blessed to have him in my life. I am hopelessly addicted to scrapbooking! My favorite techniques include layering and distressing. I have a love affair with flowers and bling. At the end of the day this is what helps me relax. It's my creative outlet. If I'm not scrapping, then I am spending my time with my kiddies, or watching movies with my husband...cleaning, cooking...(you know, those wife duties). =)
I am very honored to have been given the opportunity to design for Scrap That!. Visit my blog http://agirlsscrapobsession.blogspot.com/

Darien Anderson - Design Team

My husband got me into this world! He told me that I can start saving memories for the family. And I regret that I did not start sooner. lol! My style changes all the time, Especially when I see papers that I really love. I love Flowers and soft girlie papers!

Lady Grace (LG) Belarmino - Sketch Artist - Design Team

I am a scrapper from the Philippines with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts Major in Advertising Design. I am married to my very supportive husband, Regie Belarmino, for 2 years now and a mother to a 1 year old baby girl Hannah my precious model. I started scrapbooking almost a year ago (December 2008) a few months after I gave birth to my daughter. I decided to enter into scrapbooking to preserve my family's memories and to express my creative side.
My style differs from one layout to the other. I love experimenting and trying out new techniques as I create a page. I am into handcutting, distressing, photo editing and layering. My pages are simple and always make sure that the photo is always the focal point on my layout. More about me can be found on my blog. http://scrappinworld.blogspot.com/

Melissa Oeters - Social Community Coordinator

Hi, I'm Melissa Oeters and I live in Hinckley, Illinois. Hinckley is a very small rural area about 60 miles West of Chicago. I've been married for 23 years to a wonderful man and I'm a stay at home mom to our 4 fantastic children, ages 15, 11, 8 and 5! We also have 5 Havanese dogs and 1 over weight cat!
I'm been into scrapbooking for 16 years, I got hooked after being introduced to it at a Creative Memories party and I haven't looked back. I am a serious paper addict and I also have a thing for tools. I've often been called more of a collector than a crafter. Creating is the perfect outlet for me and you will find me in my office after the kids are in bed enjoying some "me" time with a diet coke and chocolate kisses.

I'm excited to help Lori build a fun, friendly, and inspirational forum for all of us to hang out at. Be sure you visit the forum and say hi!

February Releases from BasicGrey

BasicGrey has done it again! Two new releases scheduled for February - Kioshi and Green at Heart. We are taking pre-orders now for all these yummy goodies!!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Join the Page of the Month Club!

This is a great opportunity for you to use all the newest BasicGrey products, complete a new layout each month along with learning a new technique.

BasicGrey's 2009 POTM program was a monthly class kit program where students created one double-page layout about themselves every month using the newest papers from BG paired with classic embellishments. This year`s POTM Club will include new generic themes: instead of scrapbooking about yourselves each month, you will have different themes to choose from, with different journaling prompts so you can scrap about whatever you want--and let your imagination and creativity soar.

The best part: A FREE EXCLUSIVE BasicGrey Designer Album for each participant! You will have a place to put your year's layouts once you have completed the program. The 12x12 D-Ring album will not be sold to anyone outside of the Page-of-the-Month Program, so it will be a limited-edition collector's product that only Page-of-the-Month students will receive!

If you are in the SW Calgary area , pick up your monthly kits and save your shipping costs. You can also inquire about door to door delivery if you live in the SW. For those who are not able to pick up their kits, we are offering a special price on shipping for the POTM club only. A $6.00 savings! Have your kits shipped every two months and save another $6.00!

This program will start in March 2010. There are only a limited number of kits available. The cost of the program will be $19.99 per month, for 12 months. Sign up for yours now and be guaranteed to receive your monthly kits!
