Card Tutorial..."Afternoon Tea" June Kit

Hello everyone,

My name is Robin Shakoor and I am honored to be the guest designer for June.  Today, I will be sharing my card tutorial with you made using the June main kit.

Create the card base.  Trim card stock to 5 3/4 x 10, then fold in half using a bone folder.

Trim 6 strips to 1 1/2 x 4 1/2.  (3 strips from blue patterned paper, 3 strips from light green patterned paper)

Punch edges of each strip using scalloped edge punch of your choice.  Here I used Threading Waters by Fiskars.

Starting at the bottom of the card base, layer your punched strips.

Here is what your card base will look like once you have finished layering your strips.

Cut image from patterned paper and trim.

Glue cut image on brown cardstock and trim so you have a thin mat.  This will make your image stand out on the card base.

Place your matted image on your card base as shown.

Cut dog images from patterned paper.  For those of you new to fussy cutting, this is an easy image to cut for first timers.  You can use either scissors or a kraft knife.

Ink edges of your cut image.  Adhere your image to the card using foam squares.

Apply stickles to the crown and punched holes.  Set aside to dry.

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you give this card a try.

Robin

  1. Great tutorial, thanks. This is a gorgeous card, colors, sketch, everything! Love the crown on the mom/dad dog. I've never tried fussing cutting with a small craft knife, I may have to get one of those. Thanks for the idea.
