Hi, its Tracey S. here to share my projects created with the ScrapThat! "From Sunrise to Sunset" June Kit. This kit is packed with gorgeous scrapbooking goodness!! 

My first layout uses the Main Kit only and is based on Amy's gorgeous June Sketch.

I used Grand Peony, Bitty Blossoms, and Tattered floral dies to create these hand crafted flowers from kit cardstock and patterned paper. The Prima canvas flower was inked to coordinate. I simply adore the black mesh in the kit ~ so shabby chic when painted white then scratched to distress. I pulled apart some of the gems from the Sunrise Sunset gem sheet to scatter across the page.

More of my Bitty Blossoms flowers and a bejeweled flower trinket from my stash.

This butterfly is created using kit paper die cut with Wonderful Wings dies, then inked and brushed with stickles. The body was created with gems pulled from the Sunrise Sunset gem sheet:

Photo booths are all the rage these days. This fun and whimsical photo of our daughter, Maria and her younger cousin was taken at our Elizabeth's wedding reception. The colors of Prima's Sunrise Sunset are so vibrant and fun. I had fun stenciling, and misting and creating a fun and funky flower from the chevron vellum included in the kit.

I used one of the fabulous Prima Zipper flowers and paired it with hand crafted flowers and colored some of the kit flowers with mists. The white flower is from a previous ScrapThat! Kit. I added a chipboard piece to anchor the title created from the kit alphabet set and used more of the fabulous grunged up kit mesh.

I used the chevron vellum cut with Tattered Florals dies to create this fun flower. I added a gem and snippet of eyelash yarn from my stash to finish it up. 

I used this Prima Sunrise Sunset stencil from my stash with molding page and mist to created the mixed media background and a lovely butterfly left from my May Anniversary Kit.

My parent's home is a summer gathering place for our family. Abby is showing off her messy hands resulting from an afternoon of fishing. I pulled in the blues from the lake to accent this page.

I used the main kit carnation and tissue flower which I lightly inked, another of the fabulous FAO Prima zipper flowers, and more FAO Petaloo flowers that I changed up with paint and glimmer mist. I also added some flowers handcrafted from kit cardstock and a couple twine flowers. The Maya Road butterflies were also altered with alcohol inks. The chipboard leaves are from my stash.

A close-up of my corner cluster. I just love the flat gems included in the kit and used them for flower centers and for extra bling in my cluster here.

For a touch of sunshine to this page, I inked the kit doilies and cut another from kit paper to layer at the corner of my photo. The kit hinge clip adds at touch of fun too.

The corrugated board from a postal shipping box was painted, then inked and heat embossed with clear embossing powder for a wavy, watery photo mat. I also tucked in a bit of a vintage map from my stash. This fabulous alpha set has several different alphas in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Embossed Metal Technique with Kelly Klapstein

Hello Everyone!

It's Kelly here with you today to share an easy and wonderful technique about embossing metal.

In the June kit are a couple of metal embellishments:  Maya Road butterflies...

...and a standard office document clip...

I altered both with my own Stampendous "Frantage" Aged Embossing Enamels.

I used Ivory to alter the clip and the Copper to alter the butterflies.

Tips and Techniques by Zoe Nemburt, our June Featured GD

Hey there, Zoe here with you today, and I have a few techniques to share with you. I love details in scrapbooking, and I've always believed that it's the little things that count. We always start with a plain piece of paper... so lets start with the background. I just so happened to order this checker stencil not knowing I would receive the Sunrise Kit from ScrapThat! I was pretty happy when I found out, as the stencil is designed for the same line by Prima... I love it! I think it's my most fav stencil to date. 

So I used this stencil to add ink first, I know it sounds simple but do you have any idea how many times I've used the modelling paste or gesso and then wished I had of inked first?? Well that's just me... I see the final piece in my head and try and get there as fast as I can and forgetting all the steps. So always stencil with ink first and then add your paste. Trust me! I like to use Tim Holtz distress inks and applicator, I gently swirl the applicator sponge in a circular motion to get a nice even coverage a little bit of ink goes a long way.

I also use old credit cards for my modeling paste, and my favorite brands are Liquitex and Golden usually whichever is discounted :) 

We received this awesome ribbon in the kit. It is wired... which is great as we can have some fun with this... I wanted to scrunch the ribbon up, securing the scrunches with a sewing machine is usually the best way to hold them in place but we don't all have sewing machines (I do, but for now lets pretend I don't) so this ribbon you can slide it down on the wires and then tie once you have the right amount of scrunchiness!! 

Once you are happy you should have something like this :) just add dabs of glue to adhere it to your layout or sew it in place, if you sew, make sure to sew closer to the edges so it will not flatten your ruffles.

Ok I admit it... I'm a frugal scrapper... but I also enjoy layers and embellishments and flowers and and... you get the idea. So here is an idea to make your supplies go further. In the Main Kit you will receive this awesome chipboard swirl. Well why dont we make that TWO chipboard swirls :) VERY carefully you can pull apart if you slide you nail or fine scissors around the outside edge and slowly peel away.

Now, lets get some paint going and make these chipboard pieces become part of our page. I used a yellow heavy body paint by liquitex, you don't have to use heavy body but it was the closest to my desk!  And I know it's bright... it won't stay like this for long :)

Once your paint has dried you can add some alcohol ink. I don't have many colours but these are hazelnut and wild plum... they actually worked really well for the colours of my page.

I decided the bright yellow was wayyyy too bright so I dulled the colours down by using a white distress stain... love this stuff! Just dab it on.

Last but not least I added crackle glaze this is definitely an optional stage, keep in mind the drying time is overnight for this stuff to crackle fully. Once dry add to you page.

Add some dimension with pop dots and pop your titles off the page.

One of my most favourite things to do with wire stemmed flowers is to twist them into spirals... again... details :)

ScrapThat! Kit June Creations by Amarilys Doria

Amarilys here today sharing with you the projects that I made with the June Kit "From Sunrise to Sunset". This kit is simply gorgeous and filled to the rim with scrappy goodies!

"Sunset" Layout

I used the Main Kit Only for this layout. My Mother-in-law took this picture of hubby and I during our first day in the cruise that we took about 2 weeks ago and it's one of my fav from the trip!

"Sweet Escape" Layout

I used the Main Kit, The Embellishment Add On and Flower Add On for this layout. The doily is from my stash. This picture is also from our cruise vacation and was taken in Nassau, Bahamas. We has a great time there! Come back later in the month and I'll do a BAP for this layout. I'll also have some times and techniques to share with you then!

"Dessert Please" Layout

I used the Main Kit, The Embellishment Add On and Flower Add On for this layout. The doily and DA chippies are from my stash. The pictures are also from our recent cruise to the Bahamas.

Vintage Rusted Ironwork Chipboard Tutorial

Hi, it's Tracey S. here to share to share a tutorial with you for this rusted vintage ironwork chipboard created for my "Bree" layout featuring the ScrapThat! "From Sunrise to Sunset" June Kit and our daughter's new pup. 

Vintage Rusted Ironwork Chipboard Tutorial

This technique is quite easy and adds so much texture to a chipboard piece. There is some waiting time in the middle, so it's something you can start, put to the side and come back to later. 

Supply List:

Chipboard Piece (ScrapThat! May Kit)

Embossing Folder (Darice - Henna)

Die Cutting Machine (Big Shot)

Sophisticated Finishes Iron Metallic Surfacer

Sophisticated Finishes Rust Antiquing Solution

(Sophisticated Finishes products were purchased at Michaels)

Step 1. Select an embossing folder with a design that coordinates well with your project and run your chipboard flourish through your Big Shot or other die cut/embossing machine.

Step 2. Paint top of embossed chipboard with two coats of Sophisicated Finishes Iron Metallic Surfacer, allowing to dry between coats - about 30 minutes.

Step 3. Apply Sophisticated Finish Rust Antiquing Solution to dry chipboard. Allow 4 to 6 hours for the rust to develop. After the rust has fully developed, you can apply an additional coat or two of Rust Antiquing Solution for a deeper rust color if desired. I used three coats all together. 

Tip ~ This solution is corrosive to metals, so use an old paintbrush or foam brush than can be thrown away if needed.
